Melissa Bachman came to visit Wilmington, NC in November of 2000 for the very first time. Prior to that she lived most of her life in North Dallas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Sandy Thorpe was born in Rocky Mount NC but relocated with his family to Wrightsville Beach at a young age. He attended local schools till high school where he went to Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg Va. After attending Ole Miss for college, Sandy moved to Florida to obtain his 100 ton Captains license which lead him to captaining boats and fishing tournaments from the Carolinas to the Bahamas. Even working for country music singer George Strait on his boat for a little while. After many years traveling the coast, he joined a yacht brokerage where he learned about helping clients with buying and selling big ticket items. After obtaining his real estate license, it was hard for him to turn down an opportunity to join the Keith Beatty team.
Kristin is a native of Maryland and began her real estate career on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. As a graduate of Drexel University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Merchandising and was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.

I was born and raised in Hickory, NC. I began spending my summers at Oak Island, NC at the age of seven – that is when I fell in love with the beach. I attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and graduated in 1993 with a major in Communications. Growing up in Asheville, NC surrounded by mountains was great; however, in 1989 I headed to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and have not looked back! The ocean pulled me like a magnet. In May 1993 I graduated with a major in Communications. In September 1993 I married Gene Ingle and moved west to the foothills of the mountains to Hickory, NC. But the coast and all it offered drew us back to the beach in 2002. In July of 2008 I earned my Real Estate License and began my career. As the Great Recession began I had the privilege to grow and learn how to navigate the ever changing waters of our local market. At heart I am a teacher and endeavor to point my clients toward the best decision possible for their personal needs. The difficult early years have enabled me to play an important role on the Keith Beatty Team with my vast understanding of the area and the market. 2017 will be a great year in our market and I look forward to assisting you. Gene and I have two “almost” men who are aged 18 and 16 and an 11 year old lab. Aside from work I love boating, swimming, paddle boarding, walking the loop, reading, teaching Sunday School and participating in what we affectionately term “forced family fun”!
“As first time buyers, we started the process very excited, but also intimidated. Luckily for us, someone recommended Sherri Ingle, and we are so thankful they did. Looking back, I don’t know what we would have done without her. We would recommend her to all of our friends, family, coworkers, you name it; She truly made our experience of buying our first house an amazing one!”

Originally from Raleigh, NC, I came to Wilmington for the summer in 1994 and never left! I entered the real estate industry soon after moving to Wilmington. Valerie Vanhook was born in Raleigh, North Carolina but relocated with her family to Kure Beach in 2000. I was born and raised in High Point, NC, traveled the country as a flight attendant out of college where I lived in Washington, DC followed by Alexandria, VA, started a family in Cardiff By The Sea, CA and called that home for 12 years and then finally got smart and realized that there is no finer place to live than right here in Wrightsville Beach/Wilmington NC! I absolutely love living here. I chose to raise my three children right here for the last 12 years and I don’t ever plan to leave! Once I had children, I gave up my position as a flight attendant to become a mom where I honed my skills as a chef, chauffeur, nurse, manager, negotiator, and problem solver! Laura was raised in Wilmington, and graduated from Hoggard High School, then attended UNCW. After living on the Outer Banks of North Carolina for almost 25 years, the draw of the Port City triggered me to relocate back to Wilmington in June of 2013, with my two sons, Trey who is 19, and Jack is 16.
Moving home to Wilmington was a great decision, and it is true, “there is no place like home”; especially when home is Wilmington, NC!
In 2004 Laura earned her real estate license, and did general brokerage, specializing in second homes, and vacation homes. Since moving to Wilmington and working at Intracoastal Realty she has been working on site at a new construction development called Tarin Woods. Laura absolutely loves her job, and has learned so much about construction and new home sales. On top of that she has been able to be a part of an amazing new community, and made great friends along the way.
Laura is looking forward to being at Tarin Woods for the next couple of years, and see the community finished. Her hobbies, include exercising, enjoy the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
A native of Fayetteville, NC, Daphne attended Methodist College where she studied business and accounting. She relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2000 with her husband to raise their two children. After working in the field of Massage Therapy for ten years, she opted for a career change in 2005 and obtained her real estate license as well as her brokers license. Daphne joined Keith’s team in 2006 and works closely with buyers and sellers. She brings an extra level of professionalism to the team ensuring every real estate transaction is a positive experience.
Thanks to you and Daphne, we closed on our new townhouse in Saylor’s Watch last Friday. The sole sticking point in negotiations had to do with the new washer and dryer, which were installed through your intervention and the decision to forego a significant portion of your commission.
This is not the first unexpected kindness that Intracoastal Realty has extended to us, and, as before, we are very grateful. We look forward to moving into our new home in a matter of weeks.
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what a gem you have in Daphne. Jessica (or “Jess” as she is known by many) was born & raised in the small farm town of Benson, North Carolina. Every summer her family spent time vacationing at her grandparent’s home on Topsail Island. Some of her favorite childhood memories were spent on the coast of NC and the ocean has always felt like her “safe haven.”
So naturally, after graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Business, Jessica decided Wilmington was the perfect location to begin her career with the local Home Builder’s Association. There she was involved with the large scale projects such as the Parade of Homes and Sales & Marketing Council. This was her first of many opportunities to work directly with builders, contractors & realtors in the surrounding area. In 2005, Jessica joined the Intracoastal Realty family as an Agent Manager working directly under the Broker-in-Charge overseeing 80+ realtors and obtained her real estate license.
She continued her career path within the building industry as a mortgage loan processor and then with a commercial real estate & development company. These opportunities only continued to enhance her knowledge & experience throughout the Carolinas in the property management & development world. But her passion for the individual connection within residential real estate brought her back to Intracoastal Realty. Amy grew up in small eastern North Carolina farm town called Clayton. Her love of animals was innate, as she grew up around horses, cows, and ducks. In 1991 she graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Hospitality Management. In 1998 she married John Zabriskie and worked in property management for years before having their son Zach. Amy stayed at home raising Zach until the last few years when real estate/property management started tugging on her heart again. She currently works as the executive assistant to Keith Beatty. She has a gift for design and does help families transform their house in to a home. John and Amy spend many weekends cheering on Zach at his baseball games. She has two spoiled rotten golden retrievers who love the beach! Amy loves exercising, including running half marathons and enjoys boating during the summer months.
Amy is a true professional who is an absolute pleasure to work with. She was a great assistance in our purchase of our home at 213 Inlet Point Drive and the lot at 217 Inlet Point Drive.
Amy did all the right things to make a property buying experience pleasant. We began our search several months before the final purchase.
